Não levo a casa atrás, mas ando lá perto. Viajar significa que há uma pequena parte da nossa vida que tem de estar sempre connosco e pronta para ser utilizada, sempre que necessário.

A dúvida é sempre, o que levar? Não queremos que falte nada mas também não queremos levar coisas em excesso.A regra básica é priorizar. Preciso mesmo disto? Faz sentido levar aquilo?

Na minha mochila, há sempre coisas que nunca podem faltar, aqui ficam umas sugestões!

I don't carry around the house, but I'm closer. Traveling means that there's always a small part of our lives with us, ready to use any time, whenever is needed.

I always have the doubt, what to bring? We don't want anything to be missing but we also don't want to much. The primary rule is to prioritize. Do I really need this? Does it make sense to bring that?

In my backpack there are a few things that never miss bringing, here are some suggestions!

1. Documentos

Sem eles não vamos a lado nenhum, por isso, convêm verificar, antes de sair, se temos tudo o que precisamos para evitar ficar-mos em terra. Por que não uma check list?

Passaporte ou Cartão de Cidadão
Cartões e dinheiro
Cartões de seguros ou saúde
Itinerário e reservas
Contactos de emergência
Cartões internacionais (ISIC) - podem ser úteis para descontos

Nunca é demais levar fotocópias dos documentos mais importantes no caso de perda dos originais.

We can't go far without them, so, it is always a good idea to check if we have them before leaving. Do a check list, makes everything easier!

Passport or ID
Card and money
Health insurance
Itinerary and reservations
Emergency contacts
International cards (ISIC) - useful for discounts

It is never to much to make some fotocopies of the most important documents in case of loss.

2. Entretenimento

Regra geral, quando viajamos há sempre algum momento em que temos de esperar. Sou adepta de um bom livro ou de um episódio daquela serie que ainda não tínhamos tido tempo para ver! As mochilas são ideias se querer levar este tipo de coisas, são confortáveis, práticas e têm espaço.

Usually, when we travel, at some point, we'll have to wait. I am a fan of a good book or watching an episode of that tv serie that we hadn't had time to watch! Backpacks are ideal if we want to bring that kind of things, they're comfortable, practical and have space.

3. Snack

Bolachas ou uma peça de fruta são essenciais quando viajo! São uma optima forma de garantir que nunca tenho de esperar pela comida do avião, nem comer no aeroporto, que, quase sempre, é uma opção cara. Também garanto que, devido à segurança do aeroporto, tenho sempre água por ter uma garrafa re-utilizável sempre comigo!

Cookies or some fruit are essential when I travel! They are a great way to make sure that I never have to wait to have food on the plain and neither to spend money buying at the airport. I also make sure that I have water, no matter what by having a re-usable bottle with me!

4. Tecnologia

Porque hoje, dificilmente, vivemos sem um computador ou telemóvel, é super útil ter uma Powerbank sempre à mão! Outra coisa que também nunca falta são uns headphones, quem vive sem eles?

Because nowadays we hardly live without a compute or a mobile phone, it is super useful to have a Powerbank! Another thing that I never miss are headphone, who lives without them?

5. Daily

Andar de mochila é a forma que tenho de ter a certeza que tenho sempre espaço para tudo! Nos meus essentials, nunca falta um casaco para utilizar durante a viagem (geralmente arrefece sempre), os meus óculos de sol, uma bolsa onde tenho medicamentos que possa precisar e lenços ou toalhitas.

Having a backpack is the only way that I have to make sure that I always have space for everything! In my 'essentials', I never fail to have a coat because most of the time it gets quite cold, my sunglasses, a small bag where I have all the medicines that I might need and tissues.
